Himachal Pradesh / Solan : Shoolini University tops Himalayan Universities in Sightation Impact

According to the latest report by Skival, a leading international ranking agency, Shoolini University in Himachal Pradesh has been ranked number one in citation impact among all universities located in the Himalayan region.
There are 120 universities located in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region, including China, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, that have been included in the list of Scrival affiliations (2017–2021 data). Of these, 61 are in India, 47 in China, four in Bangladesh, three in Nepal, three in Pakistan and one each in Bhutan and Afghanistan.
Congratulating the researchers and faculty members for this achievement, Chancellor Professor PK Khosla said that it is a milestone in the university’s journey to be among the top 200 global universities. He said that the 11 year old university was started for excellence in research, quality of teaching and quality contribution to youth and development of the country.
The latest data released by Skival shows that out of the top 10 Indian universities in the Himalayan region, six are ranked by China, three India and one Nepal.
However, per publication citation, the first two positions are occupied by Indian universities, with Shoolini University at the top, Veer Chandra Singh Garhwal University in second place and Kathmandu University Nepal at third. Nine universities of Himachal also figure in the list, out of which six are public universities. Shoolini University topped with the first position, followed by Central University, Dharamsala.
According to the data, in three parameters – citations per publication, output in the top 10 percent citation percentage and ‘output in the top 1% citation percentage’ – Shoolini University is followed by Kathmandu University. In a parameter named Field Weighted Citation Impact, Shoolini stood second with 1.95 while Kathmandu University, Nepal was the topper with 1.98. Chinese universities are supervising other universities in international cooperation, due to the promotion of foreign cooperation by the Chinese government.

Khosla said that earlier this year, Shoolini University was ranked 16th in the category of Top University and Research across the country by Scimago in the northern region of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. . Congratulating the researchers, Vice Chancellor Professor Atul Khosla said that the latest data shows that the university was on the right track and would be one of the best not only in India but across the world.
