Director General of Health Dr Tripti Bahuguna said on Wednesday that according to the report from Doon Medical College’s lab on Wednesday, 25 samples have been found infected with the Omicron variant. He said that with this, the number of infected with Omicron has increased to 118 in the state and none of these patients is serious.
He said that there is no need to panic with Omicron but there is a need to be careful. He said that most of the people getting infected with the new variant are not in need of hospitals. He said that till now the number of people infected with this variant was 93, out of which most of the people have been cured. He has appealed to the people to take precautions to avoid corona infection. Along with this, it has also been asked to adopt Kovid Appropriate Behavior.
111 tourists from neighboring states including Delhi-UP found COVID positive
The pace of corona is not stopping in the Rishikesh area of pilgrimage. On Wednesday, 194 new cases of corona, including 111 tourists from neighboring states including Delhi-UP, have come to Laxmanjhula, Munikireti. The local people who came positive have been home-isolated by giving them medicine kits. Munikireti COVID Nodal Officer Dr. Jagdish Joshi told that the report of 17 people has come positive in the antigen rapid test conducted at Tapovan checkpost.
COVID nodal officer of Yamkeshwar block, Dr. Rajiv Kumar said that the reports of 111 tourists who came to visit Laxmanjhula have come positive. All are residents of Delhi, UP, Haryana. Apart from this, infection has also been confirmed in 110 local people. At the same time, SS Yadav, Health Supervisor of Rishikesh Government Hospital, said that 278 people had got corona test done in the hospital, in which 56 people’s report has come positive. It includes 20 people from Rishikesh city. Everyone has been home isolated by giving COVID kits.
