Delhi: Kidney racket exposed, 10 including two doctors arrested

  • South Delhi’s Hauz Khas police station finally busted a large kidney racket operating from Delhi. So far 10 people have been arrested in the case. These include two doctors. One of these doctors is also practicing in a big private hospital in Delhi. While the other has not yet completed MBBS studies. All these accused have been apprehended from three states of Delhi, Haryana and Uttarakhand. More accused are yet to be arrested in the case. The matter was first disclosed by NBT on 29 and 30 May by publishing the news.

South Delhi Police said that this racket was uncovered by the team of SHO Shivani, Inspector Rohit and Inspector Bharat of Hauz Khas police station. In the case, on May 25-26, the Hauz Khas police station got information about this matter. On which, working very secretly, the police first arrested three people. One of these people used to get their blood and other tests done near AIIMS. Whose kidney had to be removed. Kidneys were removed by taking people trapped in the hunt to Gohana in Sonepat. Where the accused had made an operation theatre.

The police busted this OT by going to Sonipat. A doctor was arrested from here. In addition, four people were also rescued. Whose kidney had been brought here for removal. To remove the kidney, the racket used to give two to three lakh rupees per kidney to the poor people trapped in the hunt. Then the removed kidney was sold to the needy people at a price of 20-30 lakhs and more.

The names of more states are coming to the fore in this matter. People whose kidneys were removed. He belongs to the North-East states, South India, Gujarat and Maharashtra states. The police have also found such victims. Those whose kidneys had to be removed or had been removed.

Sources say that in this case, the Hauz Khas police station first got an input on May 25-26. In which it was told that a kidney racket was running near AIIMS. Acting on this input received, the police caught a person the very next day itself. After that two more accused were arrested. The police got further information in the kidney racket from the laptops and mobile phones recovered from them. In which information was also received about the OT made in Sonepat including getting the numbers of some people. Police raided Sonepat.

Police sources said that this racket was also running the racket of selling kidneys by creating accounts in fake names on Facebook and Instagram. Police sources say that some more big names may soon come to the fore in the case.

South Delhi DCP Benita Mary Jayakar said that among the arrested accused were Kuldeep Ray Vishwakarma alias KD (46), Sarvjit Zailwal (37), Shailesh Patel (23), Mohammad Latif (24), Bikas alias Vikas (24), Ranjit. Gupta (43), Dr. Sonu Rohilla (37), Dr. Saurabh Mittal (37), Om Prakash Sharma (48) and Manoj Tiwari (36). Among them, Kuldeep Ray alias KD is said to be the mastermind of the kidney racket, while Sarvjeet and Shailesh used to find and bring the victim. Mohammad Latif works as a field boy in that testing lab of Hauz Khas.

Gohana, through Bikash alias Vikas Ranjit, used to make transport and accommodation arrangements for Sonepat. Ranjit Gupta used to keep people in Paschim Vihar who had to be taken to the Sonepat operation theater to have their kidneys removed and whose kidneys were transplanted. Sonu Rohilla is the owner of the setup in Gohana where kidneys were extracted and transplanted.

Dr Saurabh Mittal practices in a big private hospital in Delhi. Its job was to illegally remove and transplant kidneys with the help of other doctors. Kuldeep Ray was the mastermind of this racket as well as an OT technician. Om Prakash and Manoj Tiwari used to play their part in kidney transplant. Police have also rescued four victims from Gujarat, Guwahati, West Bengal and Kerala, whose kidneys were removed. Their age is between 21 to 32 years. Police said that poor people in the age group of 20 to 30 years were selected for kidney removal.
