Former President Ram Nath Kovind’s 25-year-old house sold in Kanpur, Unnao’s doctor bought it for 1.80 crores
Former President Ram Nath Kovind has sold his house in Dayanand Vihar. He has sold this house to Dr. Sharad Katiya and Dr. Sriti Bala Katiyar, the original residents of Unnao and currently residing in Kalyanpur. This house has been registered on Friday only. The couple will move to live in this new house after Diwali. Former President Ram Nath Kovind had bought a HIG class house in Dayanand Vihar, Kalyanpur, 25 years ago when he was practicing law in Kanpur court. He later built a house with an area of 286 square meters. Now in the ground floor of this house there is a hall, three rooms, kitchen, toilet and lawn besides a room on the first floor. The former President stayed here for a long time with the family. His name plate is also installed outside the house.
Now this house has been bought by Dr. Sharad Katiyar, a native of village Tajpur in Bangarmau tehsil of Unnao, in the name of his wife Dr. Sriti Bala Katiyar. Dr Sharad is a specialist in anaesthesia, while his wife is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics. Presently he lives with his family in Kanha Shyam Apartment located in Kalyanpur and also has a hospital in the name of Shreesh Hospital in Bilhaur. The doctor couple did not give information about how much they took the house, but according to sources, this amount has been shown in the registry as Rs 1.80 crore. Dr Sharad told that recently he had gone to meet the former President at his residence in Delhi 12 district. Here he met the former President. After this he gave power of attorney to caretaker Anand Kumar. On Friday, Anand transferred the house to his wife.
The house is not inherited
Doctor couple are very happy to buy this house. In a conversation with Dainik Jagran, he told that he does not have a house to live in, but a memorable heritage. It is fortunate that the former President chose him for this.
Former President did not come for a long time
Former President Ram Nath Kovind had come to this house while being the Governor of Bihar. Although the former President visited Kanpur several times, but he never came here. His wife Savita Kovind definitely came here once and met the local people. Police security was deployed after this house throughout its tenure. Because of this, Dayanand Vihar was counted among the VVIP areas of the city.
Asked about MLAs of Bilhaur and Kalyanpur
Dr Sharad told that the former President talked about Kanpur during the meeting. During this, he also inquired about who is the MLA in Bilhaur and Kalyanpur.
