SC interferes in appointment of Election Commissioner, seeks file regarding appointment of Arun Goyal

Intervening on the appointment of the Election Commissioner, the Supreme Court asked for the file regarding the appointment of Arun Goyal as the Election Commissioner. The SC said that the appointment was made within three days of the commencement of the hearing. This appointment was made after filing an application regarding the appointment. We want to know what was the process followed for the appointment. If this appointment is legal, then there is a need to panic. It would have been appropriate if the appointment had not happened during the court hearing.

Actually, petitioner Prashant Bhushan had told the constitution bench that he had raised this issue on Thursday. After this, the government appointed a government officer as election commissioner by giving VRS. While we had filed an application regarding this. Supreme Court said to present the files related to the appointment of this officer so that we can ensure that no hanky panky happened. If this appointment is legal then what is the need to panic. It would have been appropriate if the appointment had not happened during the court hearing.
