I was upset enough! Baba apologized… had commented on women

Baba Ramdev on Monday apologized for his remarks made in Thane about women. Ramdev has sought this apology in an e-mail sent to the Maharashtra State Commission for Women. However, he also said that his statement was misinterpreted. Baba Ramdev was facing all-round criticism for his remarks about women in the presence of Amrita Fadnavis, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Leaders of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress were constantly demanding action against Baba Ramdev. The Maharashtra State Commission for Women had also sent a notice to Baba Ramdev. Maharashtra Women’s Commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar said that Ramdev has emailed an apology, expressing regret for his remarks, but added that his remarks were taken out of context.

Chakankar warned, “We have received the reply to the notice but if any more objection or complaint comes, we will conduct a thorough investigation and obtain the complete video recording of the event held last week.”

Addressing a yoga training program for women in Thane, Baba Ramdev had said, “Women look good in saris, they look good in salwar suits and even better if they are wearing nothing.”
