Indonesia Earthquake: Strong tremors were felt in Indonesia, 6.4 recorded intensity

Earthquake tremors have been felt once again in Indonesia. An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 hit the country’s West Java region on Saturday. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 118 km from the ground. This information has been given by the country’s geophysics agency BMKG. However, given the intensity of the earthquake, no tsunami warning has been issued.

Earthquake tremors in Jakarta

According to the information, strong tremors of the earthquake were also felt in the country’s capital Jakarta. However, since the earthquake, no loss of life has been reported till the news is written. Officials in Garut, a city about 50 km from the epicenter, said they were assessing the damage caused by the quake. At the same time, some residents of Bandung, the capital of West Java province, told on social media that they felt strong tremors.

300 people died due to earthquake

Let us tell you, last month, earthquake tremors of 5.6 magnitude were felt in Cianjur, West Java. After which about 300 people were confirmed to have been killed. Dwikorita Karnavati, head of the country’s geophysics agency BMKG, said that aftershocks have not been felt since the earthquake. But people have been advised to be cautious.
