Pintu Gupta alias Guddu, resident of Jagaipurwa of Chakeri and Mohd. Asif Khan alias Munna, resident of Bekenganj, two vicious people who smuggled drugs and counterfeit drugs from roadways buses were sent to jail by the police on Tuesday.
A joint team of Crime Branch and Govindnagar Police under the leadership of ADCP Crime Deepak Bhukar caught two on Monday night at Dabouli Tempo Stand. Told that the crime branch had received information about the arrival of a consignment of drugs. Police seized five cartons of Nitravate-10 in huge quantity from them.
And 320 boxes of Jiffy.200 tablets have been recovered. On the information of Kanpur Police, Lucknow Police raided Aminabad’s Kasaibada and recovered fake medicines and injections from there too. During interrogation, the accused confessed to bringing the medicine from the godown located at Kasaibada, Lucknow. However, before the arrival of the police, the gangster had fled.
Medicines were supplied by roadways bus
The ADCP said that during interrogation it was found that Pintu used to bring medicines from Lucknow through roadways and give them to Asif. Crime Branch team with the help of Lucknow Police is raiding in search of other gang members. The supply of these medicines was also in other districts including Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur.
