Uttarakhand / Haridwar : Cabinet Minister Swami Yatheeswaranand inaugurated tree plantation campaign at Harela

Cabinet Minister Swami Yatheeswaranand, District Magistrate C. Ravi Shankar, DFO Neeraj Kumar on the occasion of “Harela Parv” dedicated to the environment, started a massive tree plantation drive from Ganga Vatika Haridwar Forest Division Kankhal. On this occasion, the cabinet minister Swami Yatheeswaranand mentioned about the natural environment and said that living in the midst of nature has its own joy. He said that when you are sitting under a tree, the mind gets a lot of peace at that time. He said that the tree is more important than the house. Therefore, before building a house, you must plant a tree. But it should not be limited to planting trees only, he said. Rather, it should also take full care of the plant till it becomes a tree. Only then that plant will flower and flourish in the form of a tree. He called for planting more and more trees. District Magistrate C. Ravishkar said that tree plantation campaign is being started in the entire district from Harela festival. The tree plantation campaign, which will run till the month of July, will be carried out in a planned manner. Under the campaign, priority will be given to such places as memory forest, office premises and where tree guards will be arranged. He said that there is also a plan to plant trees around the embankments, which can help us in reducing disasters like floods.

DFO Neeraj Kumar said that everyone is aware of the importance of trees. The need is that there should be no difference between words and deeds. He said that if we think about planting a tree in our mind, then it has to be taken down also. He asked the people to plant more and more trees as well as pay attention to its conservation. On this occasion, prizes were also distributed for the encouragement of the children who participated in the painting competition organized by Being Bhagirath Sanstha. On this occasion Swami Dayadhipanand of Ramakrishna Mission, Shikhar Paliwal, coordinator of Being Bhagirath, and a large number of environmental lovers were present.
