OneWeb announces successful launch of 34 more satellites

OneWeb, a low orbit (LEO) satellite communications company backed by the Bharti Group, on Monday said it has launched 34 satellites by Arianespace from Baikonur Cosmodrome in southern Kazakhstan.
With this, the company has so far put a total of 288 satellites in orbit. OneWeb said it is on track to launch the service this year and go global in 2022.
The company is focused on launching commercial service and expanding global service, and the latest move reflects this commercial readiness.
“OneWeb, a Bharti-backed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communications company, today confirmed the launch of 34 satellites by Arianespace from Baikonur Cosmodrome in southern Kazakhstan,” the company said in a statement.
These satellites will be part of OneWeb’s 648 LEO satellite fleet, which aims to provide high-speed global connectivity.
