Stock market on new peak due to all-round buying
The stock market reached a new peak on Wednesday on the basis of all-round buying on the back of moderation in retail inflation in September and pick-up in industrial activity in August. BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex opened at a record level of 60619.91 points with a gain of 335 points in the opening trade itself. In the beginning itself, it descended to a low of 60452.29 points. After this, it reached an all-time record level of 60751.12 points on the strength of the buying started. At present, it stood at 60687.60, up from 403.299 points.
NSE’s Nifty opened with a gain of 107 points at 18097.85 points. On the basis of buying, it remained between the high of 18162.70 points and the low of 18050.75 points. Right now it is trading 0.82 percent higher at 18138.65 points.
