Instruction of the Ministry of Culture to the Department of Archeology, excavate in the Qutub Minar complex and report

Ahead of the hearing in Delhi’s Saket Court, the Union Culture Ministry has asked the Department of Archeology (ASI) to excavate the Qutub Minar Complex. The ministry has also sought its report. The ministry has also said that after conducting a survey, prepare a detailed report of the idols. The hearing is to be held in the court on May 24.

According to the report, excavation can be done at a distance of 15 meters from the mosque located near Qutub Minar. The secretary of the ministry, Govind Mohan, also held a high-level meeting for this on Saturday. The last excavation work was done in 1991 in Qutub Minar.

Former Regional Director of ASI Dharamvir Sharma has claimed that Qutub Minar was not built by Qutb-ud-din Aibak. He made 3 big claims about this.

3 big claims of former ASI officer

  1. Sun Tower, not Qutub Minar
This is Sun Tower, not Qutub Minar. I have a lot of evidence in this regard. Sharma has surveyed Qutub Minar several times on behalf of ASI.The tower of the minaret has a 25-inch inclination
  2. He said, ‘The tower of Qutub Minar has a tilt of 25 inches, because from here the Sun was studied. That is why on June 21, the sun was changing place in the sky, even then there was no shadow of Qutub Minar at that place for half an hour. This is science and also an archaeological evidence.’
  3. The Pole Star was seen at night

Sharma told that people claim that Qutub Minar is an independent building and it is not related to the nearby mosque. Actually, its doors are north facing, so that the pole star can be seen from it at night.

Petition filed in court

On May 17, in Delhi’s Saket court, the hearing on a petition seeking worship in the Qutub Minar complex was deferred. The petition is to be heard on May 24. The United Hindu Front had filed the petition in 2022. It was said in the petition that the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque located at Qutub Minar was built by demolishing 27 temples of Hindu and Jainism. In such a situation, idols should be installed there again and worship should be allowed.
