Sensex: Slowdown in the market on the first day of the week, Sensex opened by breaking 30 points

The stock market opened flat on Monday, the first trading day of the week. The opening of the Sensex fell by almost 30 points at 61765 points. On the other hand, the Nifty opened at 18376 points after gaining 26 points. In the early trade of Monday, the market opened up with sluggishness. At 9.31 am, the Sensex was trading at 61,861.93 points with a gain of 66.89 points. At the same time, Nifty was seen trading at 18,386.15 points with a gain of 36.45 points.

Rupee strengthened against dollar
During this, the rupee also showed strength and it is currently trading at the level of 80.79 while gaining strength against the dollar. The rupee opened at 80.52 against the dollar with a gain of 28 paise.

Strength seen in these stocks
In Monday’s trading session, LIC shares gained eight per cent, while Aurobindo Pharma’s shares fell five per cent. Shares like Hindalco, Tata Steel, Apollo Hospitals, PowerGrid and Tata Motors gained while Dr Reddy’s, Divi Labs, Sun Pharma, State Bank of India and Hindustan Unilever declined in the early trading session.
