Uttarakhand / Udhamsinghnagar : School bus overturned, two died, many serious, were traveling on Children’s Day

In Sitarganj of Udhamsinghnagar district of Uttarakhand, a bus of children who had gone for Children’s Day outing met with an accident. Several children were said to be seriously injured in the accident. The news of the death of two people is being told. One of them is said to be a student and a female staff. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has condoled the incident.

According to the information received so far, on Children’s Day, the children’s bus of Vedaram School rammed into the truck coming from the front and overturned after roaming around Nanakmatta. There were 58 people in the bus, including children and school staff. The children have been taken to the hospital.

Condoling the incident, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand tweeted, “Sad news has been received about the accident of the bus of Vedaram School, Kichha in Nayagaon Bhatte (Sitarganj). Very sad information has been received about the death of 2 people and injuries to many girl students in the accident. All the injured have been sent by the administration to the nearest hospital for treatment.

CM Dhami has given instructions to ensure free treatment of all the injured on behalf of the government, along with giving an aid amount of two lakh rupees to the family of the deceased. Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also directed a magisterial inquiry into the accident.

According to media reports, the driver of the school bus was taking the bus from the wrong side. Meanwhile, the bus collided with a speeding truck near Bhitora on Kichha Highway. The impact was so strong that the bus overturned. After this there was an outcry, the local people immediately rushed the injured to the hospital.
