Uttarakhand : CM Dhami said in Wadia Institute, government is balancing economy and ecology

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated as the chief guest in the third triennial conference of the Federation of Indian Geosciences Association on Thursday at Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, GMS Road. This conference is based on ‘Himalayan Geology for Sustainable Development’. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a book based on the future efforts of the Federation of Indian Geosciences Association for sustainable development and the book Artificial Intelligence of Geoscientist written by Dr. Kalachand Sai, Director of the Wadia Institute. The Chief Minister said that scientists from all over the country have gathered in this conference being organized in Devbhoomi. He expressed hope that brainstorming in this conference will definitely yield nectar for the work being done in the field of social welfare. He said that the Himalayas and its geological importance are very important for the country and the world. If it is studied deeply, we find that the geology of the Himalayas is also a continuous medium of our development. Uttarakhand is an important state from natural point of view. Our natural wealth and biodiversity is unique in the whole country and the world. With all these Himalayas are increasing the beauty of our state. The Himalayas have special importance in improving the quality of the country’s climate and in maintaining the environmental balance.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that India is moving fast in every field under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India’s respect, honor and self-respect has increased in the world. Many works are being done in the field of knowledge, science and research. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is progressing rapidly in the field of science and technology. The country is working in the development of various sources of alternative energy using natural resources.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working to maintain a balance between economy and ecology. Himalayas have special importance for us even from the point of view of hydro power. There are many possibilities in the field of hydro power and tourism in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is a sensitive state from the point of view of natural calamities and earthquakes. What effective efforts can be made to minimize loss of life and property due to natural calamities. This topic should also be discussed in this conference.

He hoped that the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology would continue to work in the same way to understand the geology of the Himalayan Mountains and reduce natural hazards by promoting research for the benefit of the people living in the areas around the Himalayas.
