Uttarakhand : 10 more electric buses launched under Dehradun Smart City, CM shows green signal, 20 buses are already running

Under the Doon Connect service of Smart City Limited, 20 buses are already being operated on 04 routes of Dehradun city. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday extended the route of 10 electric buses from ISBT to Maldevta under Dehradun Smart City from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. And started the operation of ISBT to Sahaspur Road. The Chief Minister also traveled in a bus till Ghantaghar by taking a ticket. Under Smart City, 20 electric buses are already being operated in Dehradun. He C.E.O. Smart City/District Magistrate Dehradun instructed Smt. Sonika to ensure that the general public is aware of the timings of these buses.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that 30 electric buses are now being operated under Smart City. This will provide a lot of convenience to the passengers to travel on various travel routes of Dehradun. Passengers will get easy and simple facility for travel. The environment will also not be polluted by the operation of electric buses. Operation of these buses will also help for the green and clean city. He said that the main objective of operating the electric bus is to promote public transport. Operation of these buses will reduce air and noise pollution.

Under the Doon Connect service of Dehradun Smart City Limited, 20 buses are already operating on 04 routes of Dehradun city from ISBT to Rajpur, ISBT to Raipur-Selakui, ISBT to Sahastradhara and ISBT to Airport. Of these, a total of 12.47 lakh passengers have traveled so far and a total revenue of 2 crore 41 lakh has been received. In view of the high number of passengers in the already running buses and the demand for additional buses on this route by local residents and passengers, the ISBT to Raipur route should be extended to Maldevta and the ISBT to Selakui route to provide maximum benefit to the local public. New buses are being operated till Sahaspur.

Cabinet Ministers Premchand Aggarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLA Smt. Savita Kapoor, Suresh Gadia, CEO Smart City Sonika were present on the occasion.
