On the day of Holi, when the husband did not leave his maternal home, the married woman committed suicide by drinking insecticide while coming to her in-laws’ house. The marriage took place only three months back. First the maternal uncle accused him of murder. Later efforts for settlement between the two sides started.
This case pertains to a village in Didoli Kotwali area. The farmer’s family lives here. Her son was married three months ago to the daughter of a farmer living in a neighboring village. According to family members, the married woman had gone to her maternal home to celebrate the first Holi. After this, on the day of Holi, the young man went to call the married woman. It is told that the married woman had asked her husband to stay the night, but the young man did not stop and came home with the married woman. Due to this, there was an altercation between the angry married woman and the young man, after which the married woman drank the pesticide kept in the house at night itself.
His health deteriorated. The relatives admitted the married woman to a private hospital in Moradabad, where she died during treatment. The villagers reached the maternal home of the married woman and created a ruckus by accusing her of murder. Police reached the spot and after investigation, the dead body of the married woman was sent for postmortem. After this, efforts are on to reach an agreement between the two sides. CO City Vijay Kumar Rana told that the post-mortem of the dead body of the married woman is being done. Further action will be taken on the basis of the family’s tahrir.
