Uttarakhand / Rishikesh: In the journey of adventure, the raft overturned in the river Ganga

A girl died in the journey of adventure in Rishikesh. After the death of the girl, there was chaos in the house. The police have handed over the body to the relatives after the post- mortem. A tourist from Haryana died when a raft suddenly overturned in river Ganga in Munikireti police station area.

Police reached the information and took the dead body in possession and sent it for postmortem. The girl is said to be a resident of Laxminagar in Haryana.

According to the Munikireti police, Roopa Kumari (28) daughter of Dineshwar Singh, resident of Laxminagar, Ambala, Haryana had come to visit pilgrimage Rishikesh along with her brother Aditya along with a five- member team on the weekend.

All had stayed in a camp at Mohan Chatti a day earlier. Went for rafting on Sunday. It is being told that everyone started Brahmapuri rafting to enjoy the thrill of rafting. Meanwhile, as soon as the raft passed through the golf course rapid in the Ganges, suddenly the raft overturned uncontrollably in the strong current of water, due to which Roopa fell into the Ganges.

The incident created a stir. In a hurry, brother Aditya and others rescued Roopa out of the water with great difficulty. In a state of unconsciousness, he was immediately taken to AIIMS Rishikesh in a private vehicle. Where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

Munikireti police station in- charge inspector Ritesh Shah told that Roopa was a medical representative in a private pharmaceutical company. Told that the dead body would be handed over to the relatives after the post- mortem.
