Eknath Shinde’s party clarified its stand on the Wakf Board Bill, Shrikant Shinde said- ‘For vote bank…’

The Narendra Modi government at the Center has introduced the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Thursday (August 8). While the opposition is calling this bill anti-Muslim, the ruling party leaders are supporting this bill calling it necessary. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena MP and CM Eknath Shinde’s son Shrikant Shinde told in support why there was a need to bring this bill.

Shrikant Shinde said that there was a need to bring this bill because 85 thousand cases are going on across the country regarding Waqf land. He said that more than 165 cases are going on in the High Court and Supreme Court.

In the House, Shrikant Shinde said that the opposition does not want schools, colleges and hospitals on Waqf land, but these people are opposing this bill to please their vote bank, to please a society. He further said that I welcome this bill. Also, I will ask those who are opposing it to also support this bill.

On the other hand, Congress has called this bill an attack on the Constitution. The Congress MP said that a temple board was formed in Ayodhya by the order of the Supreme Court. Can a non-Hindu be its member? Then why is there talk of non-Muslim members in the Waqf Council. KC Venugopal claimed that this bill is an attack on the right to faith and religion. He said, “Right now you are attacking Muslims, then you will attack Christians, after that you will attack Jains.”
