Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting of the Higher Education Department in the Secretariat on Thursday. In the meeting, the CM gave clear instructions to the officials that the level of higher education in the state should not be limited to degrees only, but should connect the youth directly to employment.

Youth should be trained as per the demand for human resources abroad: CM

CM Dhami said that youth should be trained as per the demand for human resources abroad. For this, they should also be given knowledge of foreign languages ​​and skill training so that the youth of Uttarakhand can stand in competition at the global level as well. The CM directed the officials to establish contact with foreign embassies and prepare training programs as per the demand of different countries.

Technology based training should be given to professors

In the meeting, CM Dhami also said that to make higher education qualitative, professors should be given modern technology based training. Availability of tools, digital content and supporting resources should be ensured to make teaching interesting. It should also be ensured that there are sufficient books in the libraries of universities and colleges and all necessary equipment is present in the laboratories.

Instructions given to upgrade higher education rapidly

The Chief Minister, while referring to the Bharat Darshan scheme of the state government, said that meritorious students should be taken on a tour of the leading educational institutions of the country so that they can get acquainted with higher educational and professional opportunities. The CM also gave instructions to bring maximum colleges and universities of the state under the NAAC grading system and said that higher education should be upgraded rapidly in accordance with the New Education Policy 2020.
