Amid the ongoing war between Iran and Israel, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday (June 21) expressed hope that Israel and Iran will soon stop attacking each other and resolve their issues through dialogue.
CM Omar Abdullah told reporters in his assembly constituency Ganderbal in central Kashmir, “We can only hope and pray that the war stops. The situation is bad. This should not have happened.” He wondered on what basis Israel attacked Iran.
‘It is clear that there is politics behind this’
He said, “A few days ago, the head of the US intelligence department had told the Senate and Congress that Iran is not close to acquiring nuclear weapons. So if America felt this way a few days ago, then why did Israel attack Iran?” Abdullah said, “It is clear that there is some politics behind this, but we hope that this series will stop soon and the issues will be resolved through dialogue.”
Visited the assembly constituency
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited several areas of his constituency and said it was his duty to do so as a local MLA. “The people of Ganderbal have sent me to represent and serve them and I will try my best to live up to their expectations. So, since I became an MLA, we have accelerated the pace of development here,” he said.
Inaugurated the project
“Today I inaugurated a project, a marriage hall, and laid the foundation stone of a bridge, which was my long-standing demand,” he said. Abdullah had won the assembly elections from two seats, Ganderbal and Budgam. But after taking oath as the chief minister, he left the Budgam seat.
