Uttarakhand: Traffic routes will be changed in Dehradun on Republic Day

Traffic plan changes have been implemented in Dehradun for January 26, 2026, Republic Day. The police have made arrangements for routes and parking. Due to the Republic Day celebrations, all vehicles, carts, and stalls will not be allowed entry around the Parade Ground. A zero-zone has also been declared around the Parade Ground during the Republic Day parade.
Republic Day Route and Parking Arrangements
- Due to the Republic Day program, the entry of all vehicles, carts, and stalls will be completely prohibited around the Parade Ground.
- A zero-zone will be in effect around the Parade Ground during the Republic Day parade.
- VIPs/Officials will enter from the VVVIP gate (Main Gate No. 1) on the right side while going from EC Road, Survey Chowk towards Rozgar Tiraha and Convent Tiraha.
- All participants of the Republic Day parade, Army, Paramilitary, Police, Home Guard, and press personnel, and all citizens attending the program will park their vehicles at Ranger Ground, Mangla
- Devi Inter College/Kabul House near Survey Chowk and enter the Parade Ground on foot through the gate 20 meters ahead of Doon Library.
Parking Arrangements
- Parking for VIP and official vehicles will be behind the stage.
- Vehicles of all participants of the Republic Day parade, Army, Paramilitary, Police, Home Guard, and press personnel, as well as elderly people, children, and women attending the program, will be parked at Ranger Ground, Mangla Devi Inter College, and Kabul House near Survey Chowk.
- All vehicles coming from Dharampur, Darshanlal Chowk, and Doon Chowk will be parked at Rangers Ground.
- Vehicles coming from Survey Chowk will be parked at Mangla Devi Inter College Ground.
- Vehicles of participants and spectators coming from Rajpur Road will be directed from Ghantaghar to Darshanlal Chowk and then to Rangers Ground parking.
- Vehicles of pass holders and administrative officers will be parked at Doonga House and the Smart City Ground parking.
Diversion Arrangements for Vikram Taxis
- All Vikram taxis on Route No. 02 (Raipur Route) will be turned back from Sahastradhara Crossing.
- All Vikram taxis on Route No. 03 (Dharampur Route) will be diverted from Tehsil Chowk, via Doon Chowk and MKP Chowk.
- All Vikram taxis on Route No. 05 (ISBT Route) and Route No. 08 (Kanwali Route) will be turned back from the Railway Gate.
- All Vikram taxis on the Premnagar route will be turned back from Prabhat Cut.
- Vikram taxis on the Rajpur route will be diverted from Globe Chowk, via Pacific Tiraha and Beni Bazaar, and then back onto Rajpur Road.
Diversion Arrangements for City Buses:
- City buses going from ISBT towards Rajpur Road will go via Darshanlal Chowk and Ghantaghar towards Rajpur.
- City buses coming from the Rishipana side will be turned back from Tehsil Chowk, via Doon Chowk, MKP Chowk, and towards Araghar.
- City buses coming from Raipur Road will be diverted from Sahastradhara Crossing, via Sahastradhara Road, IT Park, and Rajpur Road to Ghantaghar.
Barrier Arrangements
- To manage traffic around Parade Ground, outer and inner barrier arrangements will be implemented

Only VIP and pass-holder vehicles will be allowed entry in limited numbers.
Inner Barrier Points
- Rozgar Tiraha
- Kanak Chowk
- Dunga House
- Lansdowne Chowk
- Convent Tiraha
Except for pass-holders and VVIPs, no vehicles will be allowed towards Parade Ground from the inner points. General public will park their vehicles in the designated parking areas outside the Parade Ground and enter the Parade Ground entrance on foot.
