Uniform Civil Code will be applicable in all states, Pushkar Dhami made a big claim in HTLS

Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in every state of the country. Dhami made this claim during an interview at Hindustan Times Live Summit. When asked the question, why does BJP raise the issue of UCC before every election? In response, Dhami rubbished the allegations of polarisation, saying development and national security are the biggest issues for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also said that there should be a common law for all in the country.

Committee constituted under the chairmanship of retired judge

Dhami told about the UCC in Uttarakhand that a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of retired judge Ranjana Prakash Desai. He said, the five-member committee has been working continuously for the last several days. Once the draft is made, it will be implemented in the state.

Promised to the people of Uttarakhand

Dhami said that he had promised the people of the state to implement UCC before the elections, which would be fulfilled soon.

Expected from all states

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that I expect all the states of the country to implement UCC. Referring to Article 44, Dhami said, “Our Constitution also talks about Uniform Civil Code and the Supreme Court also asks to do so from time to time”.

Will gradually be implemented in all states

Dhami said that one by one, Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in all the states of the country. He said, “It has been implemented in Gujarat, steps have been taken to implement it in Himachal also.
